Congratulations to Shih-Hsun Walter Hung (洪世勳) on being qualified as an Underwater Naturalist, to Kyle, I-Chen Wu (吳宜蓁) and Neal, Chia-Ho Liu (劉佳和) on being qualified as Open Water Divers by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI); we also congrats Victor, Tsai-Ching Huang (黃再慶) finished his first explore diving! Sharpening underwater skills do immensely accelerate the process of our marine microbiological research. It's my honour to serve as an Elected Head of the NCHU Life Care Club starting in 2019. During the years, we conducted street animals emergency rescue, medical support and adoption (including dog, cat, bird, rabbit, turtle, etc.). An impressed Taiwan Dog 黑糖 was, therefore, found his family in Canada and living well now. 阿牛 is one of the oldest members of our club. I'm now graduated from NCHU Hort and am ready for the next step of my research journey. It's farewell to 阿牛: hope you find your own family and start a new life there soon!

We learned genomics technologies like CRISPR, QTL, SNP, Molecular marker, GWAS, analyses, etc. in multiple crops via the course 'The New Era of Genomic Agriculture' held by Dr I-Chun Pan. It's a pleasure to have dinner with the former Director of Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Dr Craig Nessler, after the course.

Leaving for Japan with Dr I-Chun Pan, Lisa, Bell and Tina to attend the 2019 Japan-Taiwan Plant Biology (JTPB) at Nagoya and Post-transcriptional Gene Regulation in Plants (PGRP) PTGR at Nara! Nice to meet Drs Chen YC and Louis Grillet. It's quite exciting to learn from Dr Kazuo Shinozaki (expert in plant responses to abiotic stress), Dr Shu-Hsing Wu (expert in Arabidopsis light response mediation), and Dr Hsou-min Li (expert in mechanisms of protein import into chloroplasts)!
